Start kitesurfing!
Getting started in kitesurfing is within the reach of all novices!
The first hours consist of learning to fly a small wing to acquire the basics of autonomy (control of the wing) and the use of all its safety systems.
Better, a student who comes out of a course with excellent control of his wing even without knowing how to glide perfectly and upwind and better than a student who has managed to glide without mastering his wing.
Lesson times are regularly adjusted according to weather conditions and your availability.
Above all, many people are attracted to kitesurfing because it is a spectacular activity, it is true that it is magical to be able to slide, move, fly, surf, evolve and navigate in an environment "the sea" sometimes hostile with exciting risk-taking, having a feeling of adventure...doing tricks while reaching a height of tens of meters in complete safety...It is by watching others do that the project of learning to kite begins to take shape. take shape in our minds...
To start kiting you must go through professionals and recognized and experienced schools (be careful, never set out to learn kiting alone or with friends...because you put yourself and others in danger!!) To start learning kitesurfing, most reputable schools offer courses lasting a week or more. For your learning to take place in good conditions, it is very important to respect all the fundamental steps, they will allow you to build your skills, then achieve autonomy so that you can have fun sailing alone or with your friends safely….
Know that all sporting practices require learning in complete safety: (information, repetitions and motor responses) Remember when you were little and you learned to swim, it wasn’t in 2 lessons that you became independent…! Here I'm not talking to you about mastering the 4 strokes, but only about autonomy to avoid drowning... Remember that it was qualified lifeguards who taught people to swim and improve their skills. It’s the same thing for learning to kite!
When you choose a kite school, it is important to know if its instructors are well trained because your kite training depends on it, so when you choose a school, find out about the skills of its instructors.
Several schools offer courses, courses and also kitesurfing trips. Most schools have chosen to locate in spots with enough wind, for example in Essaouira, the wind blows between 280 to 300 days per year. The wind factor is decisive for continuing your training cycle without interruption.
I reassure you, you just need to be in good health, able to run, jump, know how to swim 50m and weigh at least 35 kg to be able to start kiting, so you don't need to be an athlete or a high-level sportsman...
So, to help my interlocutors build a kitesurfing learning project, I answer them by asking them the following questions: What is your goal? What level do you want to reach? Do you just want to get started? Do you just want to learn to go and come back by mastering your kite and board? Do you want to learn more about navigation concepts? Or do you want to acquire a confirmed level? All these questions that I ask you will help you build your project and make the right decision (remember when we wanted to learn to swim, some of us learned just to get by, others learned 2 strokes , 3 strokes, 4 strokes…)
Some people do not have the time or means to stay on site for a week's training, we advise them to start their learning cycle with 6 hours = €155 or 9 hours = €220 or 12 hours = €255 , they are also advised that it is essential to continue their training so as not to lose their previous experience.
